2011 Pennsylvania Representative
Ben Beers, President of Penn State University Student Launch Initiative Club, was selected to represent Pennsylvania in the Citizens for Space Exploration trip to Washington DC in May, 2011. Citizens for Space Exploration is a group of students, engineers and others with an interest in space. Participants visited congressional offices and updated the staffers / elected officials on the current status of the space industry. Ben reported that it was a great opportunity to network with people who share his interest, to meet policy-makers in Washington and to generally share his passion for spacerelated engineering. He felt that it was important to go to Washington to impress on Congressmen dfgdf and Senators that an active space program is essential for the future interests of this country and that the government continues to have a role to play in space exploration and development. Ben is an Aerospace Engineering graduate of Penn State University and past Marshall Space Grant Research Program intern. He is currently an aerospace engineer at Geocent, a company that provides technology solutions across a wide variety of functional areas.
