As students at Drexel University, Robert Walto, Christopher Killian, and Graham Donaldson were all part of the same Senior Design Team for Engineering students. Their team developed a control system that gave vertical take-off and landing capacity to an aircraft by adjusting the direction of the thrust vector instead of the amount of thrust being output. They designed, modeled, built, and tested a prototype vehicle featuring their control system, and found that their system is an effective way to maneuver aircrafts. Graham Donaldson graduated from Drexel with a B.S and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He is now a Mechanical Engineer in the Raytheon Engineering Leadership Development Program, a rotational program designed to provide challenging opportunities within the context of short-term work assignments. Christopher Killian graduated from Drexel with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, and is now a Mechanical Engineer at Textron Systems, an American industrial conglomerate. Robert Walto also graduated from Drexel with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Engineering Management. Robert is currently a Mechanical Design Engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft, an American aircraft manufacturer.
