Becky Weik
Becky began riding as a young child with the highly respected trainer Jerre Frankhouser. She continued riding under Jerre’s instruction through high school, college, and into adulthood. She has experience showing in both hunters and jumpers, with a specialty of bringing along young and green horses. Becky has a strong background of retraining young off the track thoroughbreds into being competitive show horses. Her project horses have progressed to become show hunters, jumpers, as well as event horses. She feels it is important to allow a horse to fall into the discipline that it does best, not force discipline on a horse. As far as instruction, she has been teaching professionally since 2006. Her students have qualified for pony finals, IEA nationals, IHSA zones, 4-H states, attended EAP, won many local year-end awards, and accomplished many of their personal goals. Becky is also the 2014 national winner of the USHJA Professional Affiliate Sportsmanship Award for the Southeast Region. Becky’s personal mission is to see each rider accomplish their personal goals while gaining both self-worth and confidence.
