Coordinate club events, make decisions for the team, and represent Club XC to the university. Please don’t hesitate to contact them with any questions or concerns.
President – Megan Ellery
Megan is a junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering. She may not have joined the team until the second day of practice her freshman year, but she has been coming back to Rec Hall every day since to hang with the most rad, goofy, inspiring, gritty, supportive, and only slightly run-addicted group of best friends. She is incredibly excited for another year of showing why Club XC is the best team in the nation! Outside of practice you can catch Megan pushing the limits of password security, using too many exclamation points, or searching for her constantly missing apartment keys.
Vice President – Stephen Day III
Stephen is a Junior majoring in Supply Chain Management (trucks & conveyor belts), Microsoft Excel, and Stonks! His first run with the team was the THAW preview during his senior year of high school and he has been running from Rec Hall at 4:37 ever since. This upcoming year, Stephen is looking forward to making some great new memories. When not at practice, you can find the one and only Mr. Club XC fast asleep in his bed, climbing the bouldering wall at IM, or cracking horrible jokes that make nobody laugh except himself.
Treasurer – Chris Colwell
Chris is currently a sophomore majoring in Accounting. He showed up at Rec Hall on the first day of practice his freshman year and knew right away he had found his second home! Over the next few years he is looking forward to being a part of even more amazing experiences with Club XC both on and off the course. Outside of running, you can catch Chris at the gym, watching sports with his roommates, or singing in the shower.
Secretary – Dom Feola
Dom is a sophomore majoring in Advertising/Public Relations, but that’s only because his adviser won’t let him major in Club XC (and minor in THON!). He joined the team the first day of freshman year after hearing about it from teammates in high school, and it has been his favorite part of Penn State since then! Dom loves any sort of long distance running, especially a relaxing Sunday morning long run, but is also no stranger to a nice Kick Return when it’s been one of those days. He is incredibly excited for another year of seeing his team achieve great things! Outside of practice, you can find Dom painting or drawing, editing videos, bothering his friends in the library, or just telling someone somewhere how great Club XC is.
Race Management Chair – Mike Walwro
Mike is a junior studying nuclear engineering. After running throughout middle and high school, Mike found out about the club through the website and showed up to practice soon after arriving at Penn State. An avid lover of all things running (especially shoes), Mike loves racing anywhere from 400m to marathons and beyond, and is extremely excited about helping his fellow teammates achieve their goals! Outside of practice, you can find him talking about Grit, impersonating his roommates, expressing his love of Flagstaff, Arizona (despite the fact he’s never been there), falling off of the IM bouldering wall, making polls in the men’s facebook group, and converting mangs and gurs to the Strava lifestyle.
Coordinate team bonding activities, assist the officer board, lead and inspire teammates.
Tess is a junior majoring in Kinesiology. She first found this awesome team at the involvement fair freshman year after she met a teammate with the same (superior) black and green Garmin watch as her, and she was running at practice the next day! Tess is excited to continue helping the team strengthen friendships, make new ones, and enjoy the best team atmosphere yet! Outside of practice, you can find Tess studying (or not studying) in the Warring common study lounge, wearing some form of a ponytail or bun, and hanging out with friends.
Ross is a junior majoring in Security and Risk Analysis. He started running 5ks off and on in grade school, where he learned that all roads, including that one, do in fact lead to Rec. Outside of running, Ross can be found at Club Homework not doing homework, and only occasionally asking Megan to change her passwords.
Brad is a sophomore studying Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience. Running accidentally became his favorite activity in 9th grade after he missed soccer tryouts and had to pick up a new sport. Brad joined Club XC the first week of freshman year and immediately fell in love with the team. He loves the welcoming, fun-filled family environment of the club, an atmosphere he is excited to help continue this year. Outside of running, Brad likes to play basketball with his fellow mangs, watch cheesy TV dramas, and listen to tons of music (especially country).
Quincey is a sophomore majoring in print and digital journalism. She learned about club xc before coming to Penn State and has loved showing up to Rec Hall to run with the greatest group of mangs and gals out there every day since then. Being a self-proclaimed nerd when it comes to all things running, she will gladly discuss any aspect of the sport with you and through her excessively lengthy Strava captions. Outside of running, Quincey can be found reporting for The Daily Collegian, jamming out to needtobreathe music, and obsessing over her adorable dog, Harold.
