The English Graduate Organization

of The Pennsylvania State University

The English Graduate Organization (EGO) represents and supports graduate students in the English Department of Pennsylvania State University. It strives to provide services through five specific functions:

1. Maintaining lines of communication between graduate students and faculty and staff. 
2. Providing resources and assistance with professional development and teaching. 
3. Organizing professional and extracurricular events for graduate students. 
4. Addressing graduate student concerns in open forums. 
5. Providing networking opportunities with other English graduate students, faculty, and staff. 

EGO’s officers, selected from among the English graduate population each academic year through the organization’s nomination and election process, seek to be responsive to student needs and assist its members in any situations that arise and may be important to their success and fair treatment at Penn State. The resources available on this site are meant to both support current graduate students and provide information about our organization. We welcome all inquiries and suggestions regarding how we might better serve our members and the wider community.
