Why did you choose Industrial Engineering?

Matt is a rising senior from Middletown, NJ. He chose to major in Industrial Engineering because it provides a great balance between engineering and business principles which provides a solid technical foundation with the versatility to make an impact in any industry. He enjoys studying how to develop creative solutions to solve complex problems to make the world a better place.

What is your favorite show?

Matt’s favorite show is SpongeBob SquarePants and he’s been SpongeBob for basically every Halloween.

Justin is a senior from Enola, PA. He enjoys Industrial Engineering because it provides him with the opportunity to branch the connection between the science/engineering world and business applications. This versatility and growth potential is something that excites him for years to come.

Swetha is a junior from Chennai, India. She enjoys IE because the versatile nature of the major offers many opportunities to enter various fields. It is the perfect bridge between engineering and business.

Her favorite TV show is Brooklyn Nine-Nine because of Gina Linetti’s iconic vibe.

Why did you choose Industrial Engineering?

Alex is a sophomore from Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania. He chose IE because it’s the engineering major that best translates to more business-related jobs. He gets the technical skills of an engineer with the ability to transition to business if he wants to.

What is your favorite show?

His favorite movie is Scarface because Al Pacino’s character will do anything, no matter how insane, to succeed.

Why did you choose Industrial Engineering?

Nirmit is a junior at Penn State from Mumbai, India. His deliberate choice of pursuing industrial engineering arises from its unique proximity to business concepts, setting it apart from other engineering disciplines. Rooted in a lineage of manufacturing, his family background further fuels my passion for this field.

What is your favorite show?

His favorite movie is The Wolf of Wall Street as it’s a riveting glimpse into the world of finance and ambition.

Why did you choose Industrial Engineering?

Michael is a junior from Warriors Mark, PA. He chose Industrial Engineering as he’s always had a passion for both engineering and business concepts. He knew that it would teach him the necessary skills in order to be successful in a variety of job fields and industries.

What is your favorite show?

His favorite movie is Wedding Crashers because he could watch it a million times and it would be funny each time. He says that Vince Vaughn movies are the best!

Why did you choose Industrial Engineering?

Shayaan is a junior from Mumbai, India. He chose IE because he loves improving efficiency in complex systems. His goal is to launch his own startup, leveraging analytical techniques to create innovative solutions that minimize waste, maximize resources, and promote sustainability

Why did you choose Industrial Engineering?

The main reason why I choose IE as a career field is because it opens up a field of versatility for me to develop transferable skills, and at the same time learn the technical knowledge behind it. It gives me the opportunity to optimize work processes!
