Paying Dues

Why should you pay dues?

Chapter dues are so that you can be recognized as a member by the university, in which you will have access to NSBE Events, fast passes for food at events, discounted rates on apparel, and exclusive things such as our Exam Bank! National dues are so that you are recognized nationally so you are eligible to attend conferences, national convention, and be able to apply for scholarships/grants throughout the fall/spring cycle! Once you pay your dues in the fall semester they are good for both semesters!

National Dues:

Point System

What is the point system?

  • The point system is a way to keep track of attendance and participation from our members within our general body. Points can be earned in a variety of ways, and these points are used to determine eligibility for discounts and exclusive events.

How can I earn points?

  • The ways you can earn points include attendance at general body meetings, participating in community service, attendance at professional events (career expos, workshops, resume reviews, etc.), fulfilling initiatives set in place by the executive board, as well as if you bring a friend along (only applicable to general body meetings).

Points System Update

  • Every NSBE Program is assigned to one of the following point categories: Social, Academic, Professional Development, Community Service
  • You must pay chapter dues, AND national dues by OCTOBER 5th in order for your points to be tracked. Without your points being tracked you will not be considered for Nationals, care packages, merch, etc.
  • To be considered for Nationals you must attend at least 1 of each point category
  • Subscribe to the NSBE Calendar to see which event pertains to which point category
  • Every month, active due paying members will receive a point statement

I believe there is an error in my point statement, how can I dispute it?

  • Please contact membership.nsbe.psu@gmail.com, have the subject state “Point Discrepancy”, simply state the discrepancy and some proof to rectify the matter, and you will receive a response within 24-48 hours. Please keep in mind you have 1 week to dispute a points statement.
