DINNERS FOR 8 — “A jug of wine, a loaf of bread, and thy company”. Come join us once a month for good food and lively conversation in comfortable surroundings. We rotate four times in the year to someone’s home in groups of eight. It’s “pot luck” for all events, except when we go to restaurants for holidays (saving cooks a lot of work). Singles and couples are welcome. The cost is $5 per couple, $2.50 per single. Contact Teddy Nicholas (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Mary Ellen Beechan.
FUN WITH FOOD — Fun with Food has the largest membership of all our interest groups, constantly numbering over 150. We welcome anyone who wants to join. Many of our locations have limited space but all members have an equal chance of securing a seat at any given lunch. This year we are planning to have fun at RE Farm Café, Pamela’s Victorian Tea House in Bellwood, The Tavern and The Dream in Hollidaysburg. $5.00 fee covers printing and mailing costs. Contact Lurene Frantz (email@example.com) or Marilyn Gouran (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Marge Hymer (email@example.com)
KITCHEN FRIENDS — If you like cooking and love sharing recipes and good food with friends, please join us. This group will meet at lunchtime on the first Fridays of each month, with a few noted exceptions. A firmer schedule will be available at the fall reception and space is available to welcome new members. There will be a $5 registration fee to cover incidentals. Guests will be charged $10 at each monthly lunch they attend. This money is used to help defray the expenses of the hosts and cooks.
