A message from the 2023-2024 President Patricia Weaver
Welcome to all University Women’s Club new and current members. We continue to add new members to help our club maintain a strong membership.
It’s hard to believe that we’re entering the 99th year that the University Women’s Club has been in existence. Your board is currently planning on creating exciting events this year. The interest group leaders are busy planning when to meet, where to meet, and exciting new things to do in their group(s). Try signing up to participate in a new interest group this year. We currently have 33 interest groups for you to choose to join during the fall sign-up. Our interest groups continue to encourage a variety of experiences and fellowships. If you have any questions, contact Kate May or Patricia Leech.
My appreciation and gratitude to all members and especially to the board whose hard work makes the UWC a fantastic investment of your time. The current board consists of Joanne Bennett, Ingrid Blood, JoLaine Teyssier, Cathie Kenny, Lucy Auger, Betty Parks, Patricia Leech, Kate May, Jane Stanton, Beverly Mullen, Casey Goodall, Betz Hanley, Charlene Harrison, Linda Wray, and Sue Stephenson. We have six past presidents serving on the current board: Joanne Bennett, Ingrid Blood, Betz Hanley, Beverly Mullen, Charlene Harrison, and Jane Stanton.
I invite you to become more active this year by attending more events, signingup in new interest groups, taking bus trips, attending our Fall Event, Fall Reception, Spring Event, and the Spring Luncheon and Business Meeting.
In June, 2027 Penn State University Woman’s Club will be hosting the Big 10 Conference. I’m looking for volunteers to be on the planning committee of the 2027 Big Ten Conference. If you would like to be on the planning committee or implement this event, please contact me at pweaver111@comcast.net.
Please accept my invitation for you to become more involved in the University Woman’s Club this year by serving on the board, helping at special events, or becoming an interest group leader or co-leader. Being more involved has strengthened the happiness I feel as a proud member of the UWC.
