Thirteen Ways: concept
When I started to do this project I chose to use the idea of showing 13 different ways that I looked at this poem. I found that repetition it’s not only in the poem but the poem itself, so I used some pictures twice. I also use the idea of pattern that I not only found in the poem but to display the art itself so the way I set up where the pictures are is a pattern. Sometimes I went by what picture I put wear and sometimes I went by what the pictures represent. For example on the first line are use the same picture twice because it not only shows proportion but scale I put it on either side of another picture to represent pattern, the same with the bottom row are use the pattern of the pictures with the mountains to surround the picture of the black bird in the cedar limbs which is shown twice because it represents both scale and layering. So my concept was not only to use the idea of 13 from the title of the project but to use the ways of looking at it as a way of displaying what I saw.
