Artifact 10: Lavender Magazine (1995-Present)
Lavender Magazine is an LGBTQA+-friendly publication, that began in 1995, as a result of the booming queer community in Minneapolis. This magazine was one of the first publications to discuss issues, specifically relevant to queer individuals. Lavender Mag is an excellent, accessible platform for queer discussions. Each year, the magazine has published a guide to safe, LGBTQA+-friendly businesses. The sheer number of businesses listed in this year’s guide is a testament to all of the LGBTQA+ activism leading up to the current day.
