I really like this idea, I think I could be really good, and I like the way you are approaching it. The strategy to show the shift by following a time line of scientific discovery I think is a very appropriate medium to track the timeline. I would point out that I think the scientific discovery and political/commercial policies sections will be quite easy as you can simply list examples, the section on public opinion will be more difficult because public opinion is not as easy to objectively talk about. Your idea to use survey’s is a great approach. If I had one piece of advice it would be to include information about energy usage of the public. For instance, the trends in how much energy is coming from coal, solar, wind, and hydro over time. Try to find data on the increase in wind turbines, or the increase in private solar panel installation. Surveys but good, but actions speak louder than words. Keep up the good work bro!
I really like the plan that you have set out for your paper! I think you pinpointed the most important aspects to talk about. Like you mentioned, Pew Research Center will be a good resource to go to in order to show change in public opinion. I’m not sure if you were already going to look at this but I think it would be good to look into programs and widespread ideas such as the three Rs (reduce reuse recycle) and how they ae implemented within the general public.
