As an active observer of life, there are many things that I have taken quite an interest in. Dance has been something I’ve committed the majority of my life to, so not only am I passionate about my own participation in dance, but I also keep up with all things dance related! I like to keep up with professionals in the industry, as well as up and comers. Not only does this benefit my own dance journey in the sense that I am able to learn and grow by watching them, but I truly am interested and amazed by their hard work and talent. Dancers are not the only part of the dance world I enjoy keeping up with, however. Competitions, studios, conventions and choreogrpahers are several other integral pieces of our dance world that I enjoy keeping up to tabs with. Break the Floor productions, a prominent name in the dance world is home to millions of dollars worth of convention and competition, and world famous choreographers. Dancers across the US have the opportunity to compete at these high level and high stakes dance competitions owned by the company (which are broken down into 3 competitions: 24/7, Jump, and Nuvo), and ultimately go on to compete at The Dance Awards, where the best dancers from both genders in each age level are crowned the envied title of “Best Dancer.” As a former competitor at events like these, and as someone who has many friends vying for a win at them, I keep up with them all year long! Dance is truly a passion that consumes my life. Another passion that I would be interested in writing a blog about is pop culture. Although I’m not one to be entranced by celebrities, I find myself keeping up with all things Hollywood. Whether it be the name of the newest Kardashian baby, or the highest grossing film at the box office, I am always interested in the drama. Every year, when awards season comes around, I watch all the movies (give or take a few…) nominated for Oscars and make a comprehensive list of who I ideally would want to win in each category. Although I usually am not right, I enjoy the buzz of trying to guess who will win what. Another way I stay interested in pop culture is through social media. I enjoy social media a great deal and enjoy keeping up with some of my favorite actors and such through platforms like Instagram and Twitter! Since pop culture is always fresh and changing, I think I would have a lot of fresh and new material to write a blog with every time.
I think you should do both blogs because it is so clear that you are super passionate about dance and it would be so great to read about all your dance adventures and experiences! I also feel like the pop culture blog would be a fun mini side project to do as well! Long story short I am indecisive!
Wow, your passion for dance is amazing! I think that a blog about dance would not only highlight your passion, but also be super interesting to read. I’m sure that the realm of pop culture would also provide great material (and a lot of it!) for your blog.
I think both of these are great ideas! In my mind there is definitely some overlap, so I was thinking maybe you could do something that combines the two. I think it would be interesting to read about dance and pop culture and keep up with the current celebrity events and whatnot that are going on.
Reading about your passion for dance was very inspiring. That would be a great topic to expand on for a blog since you seem very invested in it.
