Dancing with the Stars is back!

That’s right- the fan favorite show, that has been running for 27 outstanding seasons, is set to return this fall, with an all-new cast. The details of the new celebrities to

joi the show this year was released yesterday. Stars this season include famous singer, Tinashe, former Olympic gymnast Mary Lou Retton, and “Fuller House” star Juan Pablo Di Pace are just a few of the notable names who will be cha-cha-ing and jiving across the dance floor beginning September 24th. However, the beginning of a new season of DWTS brings more than just an exciting new cast.    This year, a new version of the show, DWTS: Juniors will premiere. The cast includes mini best dancers Elliana Walmsley (pictured) and JT Church, as well as several other young prodigies who will dance alongside the pro’s as well as with another list of young celebrities. Although the details of the show are yet to come, information has slowly been released, such as the exciting fact that Adam Rippon, Olympic figure skater, will be a judge. It will be interesting to see how both versions of the show work, running at the same, time, but it is clear that fans will be eager to watch them both!

Daning with the Stars cast announcement is currently the most exciting news in the dance world, I’ve been working on some things in my own personal dance world that I’ve been excited and passionate about. I’m lucky enough to be able to have earned a spot in NHSDA here at Penn State, which is the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. This is the only pre-professional dance company on campus, and I’m really excited to be a part of it. This past weekend we started choreography… I had 8 hours worth of it! It’s exciting and nerve-wracking to be in so many high level and complex dances. I feel as though I’m being pushed and challenged, which is so imperative to grow as a dancer. We will be dancing in the homecoming parade, as well as our end of semester show in the Schwab Auditorium. It is an exciting time for me for dance. As well as learning choreography, I’m gaining valuable friendships as well as considering double majoring in dance.
