Just out – A review paper on silicon nanowires

A new review paper from our group entitled “Aluminum-catalyzed silicon nanowires: Growth methods, properties, and applications,” was recently published on-line in Applied Physics Reviews.  Mel Hainey Jr., the first author on this paper and a Ph.D. student in our group, has extensively studied and developed this synthesis process which uses aluminum both to dope the silicon to control its conductivity and mediate the nanowire growth process.   Mel is currently developing nanotextured silicon solar cells based on this process in collaboration with Advanced Silicon Group.
