The Religious Studies Initiative is pleased to welcome Professor Carolyn Chen as our 2024 Harshbarger Lecturer in Religious Studies to discuss her recent book, Work Pray Code: When Work Becomes Religion in Silicon Valley.
The lecture is on Monday, February 26, from 5:00—6:30pm in Foster Auditorium, 102 Paterno Library (see flyer below).
Carolyn Chen is a Sociologist of Religion and Professor of Asian American and Asian Diaspora Studies and Comparative Ethnic Studies at UC Berkeley. She is Co-Director of the Berkeley Center for the Study of Religion and an affiliate in the Department of Sociology.
Before the lecture, the RLST Reads book club series will meet from 2:30—3:30pm in Weaver Building 102 for a discussion of Work, Pray, Code with the author herself. We have a number of free copies of the book to distribute to interested participants; as ever, we ask only that you commit to attending the book club meeting if you take one.
If you are interested in a copy, please contact jnabel@psu.edu
We very much hope you’ll be able to join us for the book club, and/or the lecture, and that you can help spread the word about this event.
