Randumb Fact #7: The little plastic bit on the end of your shoelace is called an aglet

Often, we tend to forget about the little things in life. We discard all the pennies in our wallet because of their little monetary value. We throw away those pieces of food on our plate because we are too full and throwing away little pieces of food would not make much of a difference. We tend to forget about the little things in our lives because we look at them and seem to think that they don’t make much of a difference. Take the aglet for example. Without the aglet, the ends of our shoelaces would start to unravel, causing the entire shoelace to unravel and then ALL HAVOC WOULD BREAK LOOSE!!! Okay, so maybe it won’t, but at the same time, the aglet is such a useful tool. For something so small, it makes our task of tying our shoes so much easier.

Like how we forget the small things that make our lives so much easier, we tend to forget the people who, although they may not have always stood in the spotlight, have made an impact in our lives. Especially in this moment in our lives where we are in college. We have to remember that although sometimes we like to take complete credit over getting ourselves here, we are not the only ones to thank. Rather, we have everyone whoever took a part in our educational journey. Our teachers who taught us the lessons and subjects that we needed to understand in order to have a successful academic careers. Our parents who drove us to and from school, who helped us with our homework when we were little, for working every day to make sure we had money to attend college. Our friends who have supported us in achieving our dreams and being there for us every time we needed them. These are the major people in our lives that we usually thank for our educational journey, there may be some other people who never got the appreciation that they deserved, like the librarians who helped run the library so we can go there to study, the workers at the school supplies stores for constantly restocking their items to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to buy any items needed for class. The list keeps going on, so remember, there were many people who were part of your journey, whether you realize it or not.
