Bait A Hook: A fishing tool

Drake University

Jenna Willer, Mae Hardie, Makayla Ihde & Shianne Streeter

The Bait a Hook design concept utilizes a sturdy base, a built-up handle with a sliding mechanism, a fishing pole holder, a ruler, and a visual handout. The sturdy base provides stability and gives the person an optimal workspace. The built-up handle design provides stabilization of the worm to allow both hands to bait the worm on the hook. The fishing pole holder will allow the person to place their fishing rod in the holder to allow them to use both hands while baiting the hook. The ruler will allow the person to measure any fish caught. The visual handout serves as a reminder on how to use the device. The expected significance of this product is to eliminate one of the most difficult aspects of fishing, baiting a live worm, regardless of ability. This will result in increased independence in the occupation of leisure.
