Mathematics Section Information:
For the Math section of the ASTB, the knowledge tested will include a wide range of topics based on the ability of the test-taker, including Fractions, Decimals, Real Numbers and Integers, Proportions, Ratios, Percents, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics and Probability. The link immediately below will take students to a free practice exam is that is specific to this section of the test. This will provide additional testing practice for students.
Mechanics Section Information:
The Mechanics section will test the student’s understanding of basic mechanical systems, as well as basic physics problems including fulcrum point problems and how to calculate a moment. As with the Math section, reference the FAQ on the General Exam Information page for more specific details about the exam.
A Mechanics study guide is also provided above, this is a document that was previously handed out to test-takers as a preporatory guide. The document provides beneficial basics for this section as well as tips for studying. Additionally, the free mechanics exam linked at the top of this page provides additional questions for students to use as practice.
