Alicyn Rhoades
Associate Professor of Engineering
Penn State Behrend
Graduate Faculty, Materials Science & Engineering
Penn State University

Ph.D. 2006, Polymer Science & Engineering
University of Southern Mississippi

Before becoming a professor, Dr. Rhoades held industrial positions at the Nanomaterials Commercialization Center and at Bayer MaterialScience, LLC (now Covestro). These industrial experiences were invaluable and shape the way she interacts with industrial partners today.  In 2017 Dr. Rhoades was awarded an NSF CAREER award to accelerate her work in polymer crystallization, and in 2018 she was named one of the “Top 20 under 40 Engineering Professors” by the American Society of Engineering Education.
