Welcome Back! It has been a while since I have had the opportunity to talk about one of my travel experiences, but today I am bringing an exciting vacation: Maldives. A small country located in Asia, I consider it to be one of my favorite vacation destinations. I would also describe it as one of the most beautiful countries I have ever been to. The turquoise waters, the white sand beaches, it was impossible not to be in awe. This place is perfect for those who love a beach vacation where they can simply relax and let all their worries go.
When you go to a country, you expect it to have states/regions, cities, towns, etc. Maldives isn’t like that at all. Instead, they have a capital, Malé, and several islands. Each island has its own hotel and presents different activities. In order to go to one of the islands, you must take a ferry. Once you get to the hotel, they offer several different types of living accommodations. First, there is a beach villa. This is a room on the beach, and as soon as you walk out, your feet hit the sand. It is perfect for people who enjoy long walks on the beach, or just want to spend the entire vacation lying on the beach. The second option is the
water villa. This is a room that has been placed directly on top of the water. If you step out of the room, you will be on a bridge above the water, where you can sit and take in the ocean. This is perfect for those who enjoy ocean activities such as scuba diving. Those are the main options for rooms, but there are different sizes and types of both to make sure everyone can be accommodated. In fact, the world’s first underwater hotel was opened in Maldives.
As with any blog post, it is important for me to talk about different foods. Maldives has a lot of cultural influence from other Asian countries, and also utilizes their resources, so there is a lot of seafood on the menu. There is Garudhiya, which is a fish soup that features several different spices, there is Masi Huni, which is smoked tuna, and several others. Most of the food is available through the hotels or on the mainland.
Looking back, I am grateful I had the opportunity to go to Maldives and consider it one of the most relaxing vacations I have had in a while. If I had the opportunity, I would definitely go back.
