My goal as a Cosmetology Teacher is to effectively teach all of my students, and to instill in them a love and compassion for cosmetology. As an educator, I believe the ideal education is how I deliver that experience to my students. My teaching philosophy teaching this area of education, will consist of three areas. First, to be an effective teacher you must provide students with the opportunity to practice, ask questions, and receive reinforcement of fundamental knowledge and skills in cosmetology. Second, I will encourage my students to think and to accept information passively, but to question, or to analyze anything they are not sure about. Third, I will design instruction which will motivate each student to become confidant in themselves so they can be successful in their future.
Every classroom has its own unique group. As a Cosmetology teacher, I will assist each student in developing their own potential and learning styles. I will facilitate age appropriate learning in the facility so that all students will understand without difficulty. I will present a curriculum that will incorporate each different learning style, because all students are individuals, and everyone learns in their own unique way. It will consist of hands-on learning, cooperative learning, projects, and individual work that engage and activate students learning.
As a teacher, I want to ensure that I spend time helping each student at their highest potential. Being an educator in a special facility makes me want to be a better Cosmetology Teacher. I will not only teach them about Cosmetology, but this will help them make a decision if they decide to continue their career in the cosmetology field.
Cosmetology is fun, and I hope to give my students the tools and confidence to succeed. I want the students to feel they had a knowledgeable, fun, and companionate teacher who brought enthusiasm into the educational process.
