Welcome to RLO-Catalog
A repository of Portfolios for Refugee-Led Organizations
In the forced migration discourse, Refugee-Led Organizations (RLOs) are community-driven and powerful aid organizations run by and led by refugees within host countries. RLO-Catalogue provides a compilation of RLO portfolios, a systematic documentation of RLO capacities across their key areas of activity.
The portfolios are contributions of RLO case studies in the Ph.D. research on a new Asset-Based Design approach to RLO capacity assessment. With a unique lens toward RLO information-related activities and needs, these portfolios lay out RLOs’ unique capacities to effectively seek, share, store, and manage information across three key areas of activity: Service Delivery, Organizational Management, and Visibility.
Goals and Intentions
Refugee leaders can use this website to access a selection of RLO portfolios active in different host countries around the world. These portfolios serve as a static template that can be used for evidence generation, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, or creating visibility of organizational capacities. These portfolios can be adjusted and edited by RLOs to reflect their changing qualities.
Development
These portfolios are developed in partnership with RLOs in a four-step initiative:
1. Documentation of RLO capacities and information practices from interviews with refugee leaders and publicly available data,
2. Systematic presentation of RLO capacities using easily accessible and customizable documents,
3. Receiving direct feedback from RLOs regarding their portfolios,
4. Uploading portfolios to reflect on the works of RLOs and as sharable tools across RLOs and RLO networks.
Use the menu on the top right to navigate RLO portfolios based on Country categories or Sectors.
