The long-awaited sequel to the hit PS4 title, Marvel’s Spider-Man, released all the way back in 2018, is finally getting released after years of consumer excitement.
This game, which will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5, promises a New York City that’s vastly bigger than the version featured back in 2018. It’s nearly double the size and will have major parts of Brooklyn, Queens, and even Coney Island in addition to the previous game’s Manhattan.
The game also promises the latest, most cutting-edge visuals and a wingsuit to move faster than ever before. Most importantly, it offers two-playable Spider-Men: Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Morales was introduced as Parker’s friend in the 2018 title before getting powers of his own at the end of the game. Then featuring in his own title, Spider-Man Miles Morales, a spin-off game gave Morales his own electrifying twist on the Spider-Man abilities under Peter’s shadow before becoming a fully-fledged hero in his own-right during his story.
Both characters will be playable in Spider-Man 2 and players will be able to switch between the two in a character swapping system like the one featured in the campaign of Grand Theft Auto 5.
What you think of the gameplay reveal?
Venom is also going to play a major role in the story, after being teased in the credits of the first game. He appears in the gameplay trailers as a major threat alongside the element of Peter’s symbiote suit and the wealth of beyond superhuman abilities that it will grant him. Could this be possibly drawing out his darker impulses…?
Regardless of how Peter faces his inner demons, one thing is to be certain, a monster will be set free. Indeed, this Venom is a beast, looking absolutely bone-chilling, ready to strike a cold sense of fear into the hearts of any who dare to oppose it.
Other Spider-Man favorites, such as Kraven the Hunter and The Lizard will appear as well for the first time, alongside some familiar faces to anyone who played the first game.
Who knows what kind of threat they might pose, or what their motivations could possibly be? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
