Over sixty students at Penn State Fayette will soon showcase their projects at this semester’s learning fair. Like last semester, this learning fair is being held remotely, meaning that all submissions are being done online. Students have been working hard to submit their virtual presentations so that they can display their research for everyone to see.

In the learning fair, there are two categories of projects—undergraduate research and class projects. A first, second, and third place will be selected by a judging conference for each category. Each submission will be available to be viewed online about a week after the submission deadline, which is April 19th.

Mary Budinsky, the coordinator of the virtual learning fair, says that the students have adapted very well to doing their projects online so far. She says, “Faculty and students are finding ways to still work on projects and give students this opportunity to showcase outcomes and what they’ve learned in their classes this semester.” She also says that the students’ projects appear to be “more professional,” most likely due to the students having to submit their projects a little earlier than usual this semester.

Everyone is welcome to view the finished projects online once the website is finished, and any student is welcome to participate in next semester’s learning fair. It is a great way to communicate what you have learned over the course of the semester, and it is also a great way to see what your classmates have learned and how creatively they can turn their research into a project for others to see.
