We do not stan flat hair. Here are 5 ways to pump up your hair:
Apply Dry Shampoo
Keep the application light, no matter where you spray, to avoid an ashy, powdery layer on the top of your strands. While dry shampoo is often utilized for dirtier hair to remove oils, this product can also be applied right after you wash your hair and before you style. Apply the dry shampoo to your hair evenly all over when it is just damp. Continue with your styling routine, such as blow-drying and straightening or using foam rollers for bouncier, longer-lasting volume.
The easiest way to use dry shampoo for volume takes just minutes and adds dimension to the lower layers of hair. Flip your hair forward over your head. Spritz some dry shampoo on the exposed layers near the roots, just as you should be drying your hair. Flip your hair back up, and you should see more volume.
Curl it
This is a no brainer. Even though we are very anti-heat on this site, I will allow curlers for big, beautiful hair. It makes you look like you have thicker locks and volumizes your whole head.
Dry your hair upside-down
This may seem like it is a silly thing to do, but it actually works. Blowing out your hair in general will add some extra volume, but upside-down just adds something extra. The reason this works is because upside down, your roots are automatically lifting off your scalp, which is how you want them to dry. I like to use this method to get my hair about 90 percent dry, and then I might do my final smoothing with a round brush.
It starts with the towel dry
According to Men’s Fashion Magazine, this is an awesome way for men to add a little bit of volume to their hair
- Wet your hair and towel dry
- Add a volumizer, and I suggest BOLDLY
- Blow dry your hair really well
- Apply your desired product, clay or gel
- Apply hairspray
Men hair far less to deal with, but flat hair on anyone is a major turn off.
Hairspray
Let’s get to the facts: hairspray really isn’t good for you or the environment. However, it will totally add height for you. Lift up a layer from your part side and spray underneath. My personal favorite hairspray of all time since I was a kid is Aussie hair products. It smells nice and really holds up and locks in my heavy, heavy hair.
