This episode, the cast is joined by 3 female guests: Kim Jee-hung, Park Ah-in and Roh Jeong-eui. Originally it was going to be 4 female guests, however one tested positive the morning of and thus couldn’t make it. To even it out though, and to make things interesting, the PD announced that one female member will turn into a guy and one male member will turn into a female. The male of choice, turning into a female, is Jae-suk and the female of choice, turning into a male, is So-min. They must now pair up, however since the episode was filmed on White Day, it is the women who will be choosing their male partners, but the first round will be blind selection. The results were Jae-suk with Suk-jin, So-min with Ji-hyo, Jong-kook with Hee-jung, Haha with Ah-in, and Se-chan with Jeong-eui. With this, they began the first game. This first game is for a partner group to sit under 2 water balloons, and once that begins a 10 minute timer begins. But in order to get out of the spot, they must guess correctly which pairing behind them smacked them in the head, and guess the correct one […]
“BTOB Special Without BTOB”
In this episode, we start with finishing the last episode as the cast members, who are still on the teams of Cha Jun-hwan and Jin Ji-hee, and they must play a game sort of like tag. The teams are assigned one of two roles, the seeker/protector and the robbers. The first team, seeker/protectors, must assign one person to run around the compound and find those on the robbers team, if the individual sees someone on the robbers team, they must run back to their base and grab a teddy bear, being protected by their teammates, and say the robber players name. The teammates of the seeker are blindfolded but have to protect the entry ways into the building in which they are protecting the teddy bear. The robbers, who are trying to touch/steal the teddy bear aren’t blindfolded but have bells attached to them, so it gives the blindfolded protectors an opportunity to hinder the robbers from reaching the bear. I know it may seem somewhat complicated but just think of it as a big game of tag, or kick the can if you’ve heard/played that before. At first, it seems like Jin Ji-hee’s team will win as they […]
“Team Jin Ji-hee vs Cha Jun-hwan”
In this episode, the captain is now Ji Suk-jin, meaning that whenever the episodes start it will be him welcoming the viewer to the episode rather than Yoo Jae-suk as before. But we don’t really care about Suk-jin like that, we care about the guests who are joining the cast today, Jin Ji-hee and Cha Jun-hwan, the famous Olympic Korean figure skater. Surprisingly enough, those two have actually met before on a figure skating show when they were younger, but haven’t seen each other in 11 years, so it’s a little awkward and hilarious when they formally introduce themselves again to one another. The PD announces that they are the captains and in order to choose who they want on their teams, the cast place bids on each captain, of various amounts, and the captains must choose who they think gave them the most and that person will be on their team. Jin Ji-hee chooses Haha, Ji Suk-jin, Kim Jong-kook, and Song Ji-hyo to be on her team leaving Cha Jun-hwan with Yoo Jae-suk, Jeon So-min, and Yang Se-chan and each team must choose someone as their weakest link and that person will have to prove that they don’t deserve […]
“As JI Wishes”
In this episode, all the members are finally present for once, actually no they aren’t Se-chan is missing this time as he has to quarantine, but you know that the show must go own. With that, the cast all congratulate Ji Suk-jin on his recent hit that he performed with his group from another show. The group is called M.O.M. and consists of Ji Suk-jin, KCM, Parc Jae-jung and Wonstein, which they soon perform on stage. Soon after they finish their song, they and the cast all start talking amongst themselves getting to know each other, joking and telling stories of others however, they have to stop soon as the PD says that they are there to compete not talk, jokingly of course. With this, they say that the point and theme of the episode is Suk-jin and the first task is to guess who Suk-jin would put on his team, and who ever got it correct wouldn’t receive a punishment at the end of the episode. Funny enough, Jae-suk is the only one who guessed it exactly and awed everyone by knowing exactly who Jae-suk would choose, like he was in Suk-jin’s mind like the others said. With this, […]
“Se-ri and Birdie Buddy”
In this episode, the cast isn’t complete as both So-min and Ji-hyo weren’t able to attend the shoot due to personal reasons. However, the guys make up enough for them with their enthusiasm to begin the show. To begin, the PD tells them that due to So-min and Ji-hyo not being able to be there, they have found a substitute for them that will also help strengthen their golf abilities. And in they bring the renowned golf player, Park Se-ri, the one who not only put Korea on the map once again for golf but also brought back many titles too. To begin with and how teams are going to be set up, they play a small game of mini golf to show their skills to Se-ri and then she gets to choose who is on her team, which surprisingly it’s Se-chan and Haha as they are the least coordinated of the group, to put it bluntly. Thus the teams are formed though, and now they must go through 8 “holes”, which are really just mini games of sorts, and the team that earns the most points wins, but each member is also rewarded points depending on their […]
“Dangun Myth Race”
We continue off from the end of the last episode and the pairs of both tigers and bears now must compete against other pairs with their chosen cars as they put them on a treadmill and race to be the last one to stay on. They do this 2 times and the overall winning team gets to go to a separate room and decide whether they wish to change teammates with another team ONLY after seeing how many garlic cloves their teammate has, as well as if their teammate is actually who they say they are. The second place team has to play rock-paper-scissors and the winner gets to see who their teammate is and how many garlic cloves they have too. The first place team is Bae Seul-ki and Suk-jin and they decide to stay together, and the second place team is Jung-kook and Eunhyuk who soon finds out that Eunhyuk is a poacher and is now stealing garlic cloves from Jung-kook as they continue to win. The thing is though, Eunhyuk convinces Jung-kook to stay together so they can work as a team to find the other poacher and win, however there’s a large hitch in this plan […]
“‘Height’ Point Pt. 2”
In this episode, we continue off from the last episode with the same guests and cast members. We first kick off with the teams remaining the same (short, average, tall) and playing a team based game. Two teams are partnered together to complete a puzzle the PD gives them, for example, if the PD gives them a question, they must give syllables of that word in order to say it out, and if they are able to do so, members of the other team might/might not get whip cream sprayed at them, depending on the number they randomly choose and if their other members pushes that button corresponding to it. And I know it sounds very confusing and difficult but it’s actually quite simple once one sees it and plays. This continues with all the teams having a chance to be in the hot seat and let’s just say that team average has really poor luck and all their members get whip cream sprayed at them. After this, the next game is described to them by the PD and it’s sort of “survival of the fittest” but in order for your team to survive, you must collect 5 acorns […]
“‘Height’ Point”
In this episode of Running Man, the cast members are joined by supermodels and fashion icons across Korea: Irene Kim, Joo Woo-jae, Lee Hyun-yi and Song Hae-na. From the beginning though, the members are told by the PD to dress in their trendiest clothes to start off the new year right, however they don’t know but they are going to be judged by these fashion icons on whether if their actual outfits are trendy or not. At first the members all gather and compliment one another on their outfits but are soon interrupted by the PD announcing that Haha has finally chosen which show he likes being apart of most, and unfortunately for him, he did not say “Running Man”. But soon the attention is off of him and on So-min who performed in front of an audience a song, but the audience was left in shock by how poorly So-min sang (which was the point of the performance actually). So after it’s calmed down, the cast is told about how they are going to be rated, but won’t know by who until the end and after everyone has received their critiques by the judges. Many of the members […]
“December 31st of 1999”
This week the cast is themed with the incoming new year and the 21st century. They’re dressed in 1990s clothing and patiently ‘waiting’ for the clock to strike midnight and the year 2000 to begin. Because of this, the crew is going to be joined by guests all born in 1999. The cast is joined by Arin from the K-pop group “Oh My Girl”, Jin Ji-hee an actress who debuted 19 years ago at the age of 4, and SAN from another K-pop group “ATEEZ”. The cast becomes excited to meet these stars as they’ve all had very impactful and enormous success this year. Another thing, that I personally find funny, is that Jong-kook and ATEEZ did an album together and he’s even performed a few times in ATEEZ’s music videos. After the cast and guests all get to know each other a little bit more the PD starts the show officially and introduces the mission to them. He explains that long ago 2 philosophers predicted certain world wide events that occurred and their names were Nostra and Damus, however they are going to be playing a part in these missions and are extremely vital. 2 people are going […]
“Street Human Fighter”
In this episode, the cast are dressed in dance outfits and ready to learn, especially from the pros the PD brought in to teach them. The cast is joined by 4 hip-hop pros: Aiki, Honey J, Leejung, and Monika. These 4 girls are known around Korea as the best hip-hop dancers to ever come about. To start off the episode, all the captains (the 4 hip-hop stars) dance in to show off their style in order for the other cast members to choose which team they want to be on. In the end, the teams split up with Jung-kook and Haha on Leejung’s team; Ji-hyo on Aiki’s team; Se-chan and Seok-jin on Monika’s team; and lastly Jae-suk and So-min on Honey J’s team but unfortunately Honey J started to feel unwell and left the set leaving So-min to Aiki’s team and Jae-suk to Monika’s team. After the teams are finalized and sorted out, the actual fun begins. The first mission the cast and their teams participate in is a game where the PD gives them 2 pictures and they must name them both and whatever team get it correct, they get 5 points, but if they get it […]
