I lead the design, programming, data management, and system administration of the following resources:
Pennsylvania Spatial Data Access (PASDA)
A cooperative project of the Governor’s Office of Administration and Penn State University, PASDA is the official open spatial data portal for Pennsylvania. It provides access to hundreds of terabytes of data, publishes thousands of map service layers, and hosts interactive mapping applications.
Penn State Data Commons
The Data Commons is a resource for sharing, discovering, and archiving data for the Penn State research community. It maintains a database of over a half petabyte of data, provides searching tools, and assists researchers in the curation and documentation of their data.
Pennsylvania Flood Risk Mapping Tool
This resource is funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide a tool for the public and flood experts to identify locations that are located within flood hazard zones. This resource can help flood managers with efforts like municipal flood ordinances and the general public when deciding whether to obtain flood insurance.
Pennsylvania Underground Mine Maps
This application provides access to underground mine maps that have been digitized by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Maps of current and historic mines are georeferenced and viewable on top of various base maps. The project aims to help homeowners determine if their property is located above a mine and inform them of the value of mine subsidence insurance.
Pennsylvania Imagery Navigator
This application is a single interface for viewing and downloading many collections of imagery. Some collections are state-wide and others cover just a portion of the state, and they span many decades from the present day back to the 1930s. Clicking a point on the map reveals the imagery collections that are available for the location and the years they were captured.
