Passion Blog #8

It was a pretty stressful week this week, so I didn’t have too much time to find a good dinner recipe in advance. In fact, I completely forgot I was supposed to cook dinner when my mom texted me at 2pm reminding me that I should get started on dinner quickly. After a moment of panic, I quickly ran to my computer and headed straight to Pinterest. There I looked for a recipe that wouldn’t take too much time. Suddenly, I stumbled upon a perfect recipe to try, Garlic Butter Chicken . Looking back now, I realize that most of the recipes I suggest follow a central ingredient of garlic. Either way, this recipe did not disappoint! After grabbing my computer and heading downstairs to prep the chicken, I opened up Apple Music and proceeded to put on my “Running” playlist. Something about listening to workout music while cooking makes my adrenaline rush and excites me to see how my food will turn out. Not to mention, I think so positively while working out because I know I’m working on myself and my health that having that energy around while cooking also makes me feel very happy, even if cooking isn’t exactly my “thing.”

While cooking, I had my little brother in his highchair watching me. I love to dance around the kitchen with him and make funny faces. Seeing his smile is perhaps one of the best things in the world. Having a cooking buddy is also really nice. Despite not talking yet, my brother Jax does babble, so while I’m cooking and listening to music he really enjoys babbling to me as if he’s actually saying some words.

Onto the recipe itself, it was actually pretty simple. For it being so last minute, I lucked out having all the ingredients except chicken stock. Instead, I just substituted chicken broth. I’m not too sure if they’re the same thing with different names, but chicken broth worked perfectly as well. I did have to double the recipe because I have such a large family. However, if one is cooking for 3-4 people, then the chicken would be finished in a much shorter timeframe. All in all, the food turned out fantastic. This is definitely a very simple recipe that I will use in the future. I highly suggest using it if you’re running low on time, but what to make a lasting impression on the tastebuds of your family.
