2019 ECMSS Workshop

The Power of Inclusion

1:00- 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 16th

112 Forest Resource Building

We all hear about the focus on diversity and inclusion in STEM fields but what can graduate students actually do to promote this? In this workshop we will discuss the power of language and how empathy can lead to a more inclusive working climate in STEM labs and departments. Graduate student participants will leave the discussion with a better understanding of the importance of their actions and words in making STEM more welcoming to people from all backgrounds.
