Are you graduating in May? Are you looking for employment opportunities? Did you really enjoy your chemistry lab experiences at Penn State? If so, please consider applying to be a Chemistry TA!
The Chemistry Department is projecting a chemistry TA shortage for the Fall 2019/Spring 2020 academic year (Chem 111, Chem 113, Chem 213W, Chem 203, and some 100-level and 200-level lecture courses). These shortages have been made up in a variety of ways. One successful approach has been to hire recent PSU grads with strong chemistry backgrounds who are looking for a gap semester or gap year experience. During the fall and spring semesters, we have provided full-time (40 hours per week) and part-time (20 hours per week) TA positions to qualified recent grads.
For additional information regarding the available TA positions or to apply for a TA position, please contact Dr. Sheryl Dykstra (sad270@psu.edu) by June 1st. All inquiries MUST include a cover letter expressing interest, a current resume, an unofficial transcript, and information regarding your experience in chemistry laboratory courses like Chem 111, 113, 203, and/or 213W (location/campus taken, semester taken, TA, grade or projected grade).
