Biology

The Biology degree prepares students for a variety of careers in biological, health, and environmental sciences. The degree can also be tailored to meet the specific requirements of professional programs such as medical, dental or pharmacy schools; or graduate study in the life sciences.

Business, B.S.
The business program prepares students to pursue careers in business focused careers like analytics, marketing, wealth management, tax planning, risk management, or financial analysis.

Corporate Communication, B.A.
Communication career fields often include: businesses, consulting firms, educational institutions, the health care industry, non-profit and philanthropic organizations, government, advertising, advocacy, human resources, marketing, media relations, public relations, sales, and strategic communication.
 
English B.A.

Graduates of the English program can choose from a wide variety of career paths including administration, business, communication arts, consulting, creative writing, education, journalism, politics, publishing, speech writing, and theater. English majors can also work in academia, administrative positions, libraries, media, museums, educational institutions, foundations, government, non-profit organizations, private companies, and publishing.

Human Development and Family Studies B.S.

HDFS graduates typically work in employment settings such as education, counseling, social work, psychology, human development, and community agencies, while postgraduate pursuits often include advanced studies in health-related professions, social work, psychology, or law.

 

Typical employment settings for an HDFS graduate include: preschools, daycare centers, hospital programs for children, youth, and families, institutional and community mental health programs for individuals and families, programs for abused or neglected children and adolescents, women’s resource centers, human resources programs, employee assistance programs, nursing homes, area agencies on aging and other community settings for older adults, public welfare and family service agencies, school guidance counselors, and drug and alcohol counseling.

Typical postgraduate pursuits for students completing this option include: social work, human development, family studies, psychology, or sociology, or advanced professional training in psychology, law, behavioral health and counseling

Information Technology B.S.

Our IT majors can choose to focus on Application Development, Business Applications, Cybersecurity or a Customized Option. Graduates are well-qualified to enter the workforce in IT positions that meets their interests and abilities as well as the needs of employers in fields such as consulting, technology/energy, financial services, government/defense contracting, insurance/healthcare or manufacturing.

Integrative Science B.S.

The integrative science curriculum prepares students for environmental science careers such as environmental scientist, plant and marine science professional, agriculturist, zoologist; health professional careers like medical doctor, dentist, veterinarian, pharmacist, optometrist, physician assistant, pharmaceutical sales; and industry and education careers like laboratory analysts, research and development, food scientist, industrial hygiene officer, and science teacher.

Mechanical Engineering B.S.
Mechanical engineering graduates go on to work in a diverse range of industries for large multinational companies and small local firms as design engineers, research engineers, biomedical equipment, analyst, entrepreneur, test engineer, rocket engineer, project manager and sales engineer.

Multidisciplinary Studies B.A.

These are just some of the positions that Multidisciplinary Studies graduates have held: book, magazine, newsletter, and web writing, editing, publishing; student loan customer relations representative; teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) in a foreign country; grant writing for nonprofits; sales manager; purchasing agent; events coordinator; law and policy development; customer relations and team training; marketing, advertising, public relations specialist; media/journalism (corporate, non-profit, and government); social and human services assistant; human resources assistant and administrative support specialist.

Nursing B.S.N.
The nursing degree program prepares students to provide nursing care in a variety of settings, including hospitals, private practice, long-term care, clinics, and health care/community agencies. A four-year degree is the foundation for the advanced education needed for advanced practice positions (nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, nurse midwife, nurse anesthetist) and other advanced nursing roles (administrator, educator, or researcher.

Project and Supply Chain Management B.S.

The PSCM program qualifies graduates for careers in supply chain operations and project management. Typical employers include manufacturers, warehousing and distribution companies, information integrators, retailers, transporter and third-party logistics firms, and related consulting firms across both industry and government.

Psychology B.A. or B.S.
The psychology undergraduate curriculum prepares students for graduate study in experimental psychology and allied fields (e.g., developmental, social, cognitive, biological, neuroscience and business), clinical psychology, counseling psychology, and sports psychology, and social work.
