One of the tools available to students at the engineering labs at Penn State Great Valley is a laser cutter/engraver. This tool is versatile, and I have been exploring its limits since I have been trained on it. I have etched glassware, plastics, and wood. I have cut structural designs, etched pictures, and stylized glassware. The following pictures show examples of different projects I have done on the laser.

These glasses were made as a Christmas gift for my family.

These wall mounts were made for my brother to hold lightsabers.

This picture was etched onto a piece of wood for my mother. She has yet to decide on a final size and color, so this test piece is the best picture available.

This lightbox was made out of 5 layers of acrylic, each etched with a unique design. I then wired a strip of LEDs to give the box a cool effect. The LEDs alternate between 8 different colors.
