We envision a sensory-friendly library as including these elements:
- Sensory Rooms–spaces that offer equipment, furniture, and lighting systems that generate soothing experiences (examples).
- Flexible, Fidget-Friendly Seating–furniture that adapts to the user, allowing the user to focus on studying or relaxing.
- Technology in Service of Multisensory Learning–new technologies that allow students to choose a learning mode–visually, verbally, kinesthetically or a combination of these.
- Resources about Self-Coping Techniques–informational tools that help students learn methods for soothing themselves in any sensory environment.
