I think that AR would be good in training for situations across a lot of professions. Whether it’s police training to understand how to react in certain situations or pilot training, I think that it is beneficial. I know that some people use it for design planning, and I have even seen on an online store that you could try on an outfit with AR without receiving it yet. I never tried it, but there seems to be a lot of possible benefits to AR. For example, with me being an electrical engineer I believe that AR could help me make decisions with certain situations dealing with circuit boards. This can count as experience without me working yet and help me become comfortable with the problems that I might encounter.
In terms of ethics, it can become unethical if you use people in your augmented reality. The consent to be able to be in your AR isn’t even the issue, but what happens with them while you are in it. There is also the possibility to become unattached to other in society because you are used to certain interactions with them in AR. Things don’t always go how you think and that could end up making you have unrealistic expectation for certain situations. In AR like video games, you can also commit crime and become used to a certain lifestyle. For some people this can be persuasive and lead them down a different path, but this is to be expected because with every good thing there is always bad.
I believe that snapchat will be an app in the future because of the amount of people that find it’s features fun and interesting. People start using snapchat at a young age because of the different things they can do to communicate which they couldn’t before. Of course, now you can do these things on other apps, but back then it was the only app with doggy filters and other things. I have noticed however that as we got older, less and less people were using snapchat. I think that unless the government steps in, snapchat will be an app in the future.
