Frank T. Materia, M.S., M.H.S., is a doctoral candidate in the Biobehavioral Health Ph.D. program. He recently completed a CTSA TL-1 predoctoral traineeship with Penn State’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and a Graduate Certificate in Translational Science through Penn State’s Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Frank holds a B.S. in Biobehavioral Health (minor, Bioethics & Medical Humanities) from Penn State. In 2014, he earned his clinical Master of Health Science degree, and in 2018 earned a Master of Science in Biobehavioral Health. He is broadly interested in investigating the effectiveness of mobile health (mHealth) technologies for enhancing human well-being. More specifically, his research aims to elucidate how a variety of implementation factors influence the efficacy of mHealth mediums for improving the biobehavioral health outcomes of end-users. Frank’s future goals include completing a post-doctoral fellowship, and then continuing on into academia.
