Shadows of Birds History

Shadows of Birds began in 2012 solely as an online magazine run by two students through Tumblr. However, in 2013 Shadows of Birds was handed over to a new team of students who moved the site to WordPress. Presently, Shadows of Birds is still going strong, and has even expanded into print publications. Additionally, Shadows of Birds hosts monthly coffeehouses where students and faculty can come together to create new pieces, read past pieces, and socialize with fellow writers. Shadows of Birds prides itself on fostering a community in which writers feel open to sharing their work.

For a chance to have your work published in Shadows of Birds click on the “Submit Work” tab in the toolbar. We accept most forms of writing, audio, and artwork.

1. All submissions must be your original work.

2. You must be a student, faculty, or staff member at Penn State Berks to have your work published.
