To best provide faculty and discipline support, the Office of the Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses and Teaching & Learning with Technology have provided a professional development framework for faculty teaching within shared programs that consists of three tiers: foundational, practical, and innovative. The three tiers build upon each other and vary in terms of time commitment, format, audience, and outcomes.
Foundational Faculty Development
The foundational tier is supported by the World Campus Faculty Development OL (Online Learning) courses.
Practical Faculty Development
The practical tier focuses on addressing the specific opportunities and challenges of teaching in a shared program and are provided by the Office of the Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses and Teaching & Learning with Technology.
Innovate Faculty Development
The innovative tier provides a whole team approach to faculty development in the form a of an innovation project. Faculty members work with a team of designers and developers on an innovative design/redesign project.
