Sheetz Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence

About the Center

The Sheetz Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence is an official academic center of Penn State Altoona. The Center supports academic research, education, and community engagement in entrepreneurship

Sheetz Fellows

The Sheetz Fellows experience offers “an education for leadership” in the best tradition of the Business program. It molds well-rounded students who are ready for the world and prepares students for citizenship and for lifetime learning.

Pechter Competition

The Pechter Business Plan Competition provides a process for students to turn great ideas into great businesses. Competitions encourage students to form interdisciplinary teams, to take ideas from the concept phase, through a feasibility study/market analysis to a full business plan, and to build a new venture.

The Altoona Launchbox Sponsored by the Hite Family

The Altoona Launchbox sponsored by the Hite Family is a no-cost startup accelerator and co-working space designed to provide early-stage startups with the support and resources they need to build a sustainable and scalable business and a viable plan for growth.
