CASINO MANAGEMENT CLUB

The Casino Management Club provides members with an introduction and access to the commercial gaming as well as night life and entertainment industry. The club is primarily educational student trips to major gaming markets like Las Vegas, Nevada and Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The Penn State Chapter of the Hospitality Asset Managers Association gives students the opportunity to learn, connect with professionals, and get more hands-on exposure to the Real Estate and Asset Management aspects of the Hospitality industry.

HOSPITALITY FINANCIAL & TECHNOLOGY PROFESSIONALS

The Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals allows students to explore the financial and technological side of the hospitality industry. Students have the opportunity to delve into topics that interest them and aid in future endeavors. Students are given insight into topics not primarily covered throughout the curriculum.

The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International     (HSMAI) is a global organization committed to growing business by fueling sales, inspiring marketing, and optimizing revenue. The Penn State Chapter of HSMAI is proud to provide students with the ability to gain greater knowledge, hands on experiences, and the means to network with professionals within the industry of hospitality sales, marketing and revenue management.

NATIONAL SOCIETY OF MINORITIES IN HOSPITALITY

Whether you identify yourself as a minority student or not, this organization provides students with the knowledge of what it means for an industry to be a diverse and culturally-innovative workplace. You will gain the most relative professional development by participating in activities of this organization and attending regional and national conferences.

PENN STATE HOTEL & RESTAURANT SOCIETY

PSHRS is the umbrella student organization in the School of Hospitality Management, and also serves as the student chapter of the School of Hospitality Management’s 9,000-member-strong alumni society. The purpose of the organization is to unite and build closer fellowship among the students, alumni, and faculty of the school with the objectives of strengthening all the professions of the program and building the reputation of the school. Student members can be active in any of the committees of the club: education, alumni relations, social, fundraising, and community service. This organization provides trips to Washington, D.C. and the Annual HX: Hotel Experience in New York City.

PENN STATE MEETINGS & EVENTS CLUB

Penn State Meeting and Events Club is the Penn State Student Chapters of PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association) and MPI (Meeting Professionals International).  The purpose is to provide students who have an interest in the meeting and event field the opportunity to learn about the industry and gain hands-on experience. Students achieve field experience in the club working as “meeting planners” to assist other University departments, local organizations, and businesses to plan, execute and evaluate their events.

SHM THON ORGANIZATION

The School of Hospitality Management THON Organization is a general organization within the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon. THON is committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. Our mission is to support these families and raise awareness to promote funding for the Four Diamond Foundation in hopes of a cure.
