Dojo Kun

The following are the general rules of the dojo. The dojo kun is said to have been created by Master Gichin Funakoshi (father of modern karate), and some think that it may have been created by Sakugawa, an 18th century karate enthusiast who lived in Okinawa. The overall purpose of the dojo kun is to give students a starting point to study Shotokan karate. Master Funakoshi also expanded the ideas of the Dojo Kun into 20 precepts known as the Niju-kun.
