The floor of the limousine is comprised of steel plated armor to in order protect the president from any bombs, landmines, or IEDs that the limousine may run over. And to top it all off, the limousine has a fire suppression system installed just in case a terrible scenario transpires. Just in case the president does happen to get seriously injured in his limousine, the vehicle is stocked with multiple bags full of his blood type that will hold him over until the motorcade is able to reach a medical facility.

This car is not just equipped for defense and protection. The president’s limousine has many components on board in case the president needs to take the offensive. The president’s limousine is armed to the teeth with rocket launchers, smoke grenades, and shotguns. For all intensive purposes, the president’s limousine is a small and compact military base on wheels.

Ever since the assassination of John F. Kennedy, presidential vehicles have been completely covered and bulletproof. The secret service realized that the reason JFK was assassinated was partly due to the lack of security in the motorcade as well as the lack of protection the convertible JFK was in provided. The secret service rectified these shortcomings, which is why presidential vehicles such as “The Beast” are so heavily armed and bulletproof.

This power and prestige comes with an air vulnerability and endangerment due to the masses’ greed, jealousy, rage, and so much more. It is because of the vulnerability that comes with a position of power such as the presidency that certain measures must be taken to ensure the safety of the president. One of these measures is a tricked out bulletproof limousine that has its own small arsenal aboard. Mobile fortresses such as “The Beast” get the president where they need to go efficiently and safely. Without the protection that this bulletproof vehicle provides, the leader of our country would be in grave danger every time he stepped into a vehicle. That is why this car is so important. It may not have the historical significance of cars I have previously discussed, but this vehicle protects our nation’s most valuable person every time it goes out on the road.
