Welcome to Silver Screen to Spotlight- the only blog that reviews, critiques, and rates the various different Broadway musicals that have been adapted from movies! Ever since I was 5, I have had an immense admiration and appreciation for the arts, especially Broadway shows. As a frequent patron of Broadway shows, I have noticed a seismic shift in the type of shows currently on Broadway. Today, it appears that movie musicals (musicals adapted from movies) outnumber original musicals by a substantial amount. Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to see many of these movie musicals in person. Some, admittedly, have been amazing while others have been subpar. So, if you want the real backstage scoop, follow along as I discuss some of Broadway’s most popular movie musicals and determine if the transition from silver screen to spotlight was worthwhile.
