Everyone right? wrong! There are actually more people than you would think, in fact 15% of adults in the United States are not online and 92% of those are perfectly fine with it! This
information comes from a survey that was conducted last spring that surveyed 2,252 peopleover the age of 18.
As many of you probably guessed the majority of those in the study who came in as a non internet user were also part of the older demographic.But they aren’t the only ones making up the fifteen percent. Many other reasons for not using the internet include lower education, not having a computer, web access being too expensive, or just plainly because they have no interest in what the internet has to offer them.
So how do these people get on with out internet these days? Well, those in the survey said that they would ask a family member or someone who lives with them to do whatever they needed done on the internet for them.
Who would have thought that there is such a large population of people not interested in the internet. While 15% is not a large number, it is a large percentage of a media intense society. Considering the fact that today’s generation is extremely dependent on social media, technology and smart phones, you would think that older generations would have more of a desire to be technological connected to keep up. This post is interesting because it isn’t something that people often talk about. The internet is assumed to be used by everyone, but we often take for granted the privileges we have! I was thinking about myself, and I probably use the internet 60% of my day. I couldn’t imagine being without it! I was interested in finding out the effects that the internet has, because if 15% of our population isn’t given access, that means they are also not a part of the effects that we experience whether good or bad. This article explains in detail the different effects that the internet has on society. I think you’ll find it interesting!

15% is a really big number! It’s hard to imagine that many people not using the Internet and asking other people to do it for them. Not a day goes by when I don’t use the Internet, whether I am sitting at my desk on my computer or I am laying in bed catching up on E! Online. Your blog got me thinking about the use of Internet throughout the world. Sometimes, we forget that people in other countries are probably doing the exact same thing we are. Internet World Stats created a pie graph that separates regions and shows how many Internet users are in each. Believe it or not, Asia makes up for almost half of that graph. Like I said, sometimes we forget about those other countries. The United States came in third, which is hard to believe because I feel like I always see someone on the Internet. It just goes to show how prevalent the Internet is and how much those 15% of adults are missing out on great stuff!

Wow that last sentence seems really inconvenient. Considering my personality i think that i would go crazy waiting for the person to reply to my needs. Also does that 15% of adults include elderly that didn’t really get a chance to experience internet as well? Because then it makes sense and isn’t really surprising because a lot of elderly I know don’t need or use internet anyway, because they just watch TV or read the papers.hat
Its also funny that people don’t atleast learn how to do the internet, and that it isnt more available, since technology has gotten so far, it is still so expensive.
