Hello everyone! My name is Tajh Jenkins and I’m from Philadelphia, PA. I am a junior majoring in print journalism with a minor in ethics here at PSU.  I aspire to be a sports journalist once I graduate. Currently, I write for two websites called Fanspeak.com and Sidelinesapp.com. If interested, take a look at this feature article that I wrote for Fanspeak this past week. The article will appear in their 2013 NFL Guide. In addition, I’m also doing an internship as a managing editor/sports journalist for a website called HuddlePass.com. I cover the Penn State and University of Minnesota football teams. Outside of writing, my other interests are playing sports (especially basketball), listening to music, hanging out with my friends, and spending time with family. I’m more of a laidback kind of guy.

The main reason that I am taking SC 200 is to fulfill my last GN requirement. With that being said, I do enjoy learning some aspects of science, but not all. Science isn’t really my strong suit, but my advisor recommended that I take this class for not only that reason, but also because it requires me to write and post blogs (even though everything is science related). I’ve generally done well in my previous science classes here at PSU and I hope to continue that trend in this class. I decided not to major in science because it isn’t my passion. There are other things that I’m more passionate about, such as journalism. However, I do like science and I look forward to learning a ton of new eye opening things this semester. Take care!

Earlier when I stated that one of my other interests is listening to music, I really meant that all I listen to are rappers J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. J. Cole especially, because he’s my favorite music artist. I met him this past summer and it was a great experience!
