I have never heard this and now want to do more research on this topic. I always leave half empty water bottles in my car and land up drinking them way later when I’m really thirsty. I have always wondered about this but never took the time to look further into it. The melting or heating up of these thin plastic bottles can’t be a good thing for the water sitting inside. Is this the same type of risk when heating up food in a styrofoam or plastic container? The rays from the sun can certainly heat something up but putting food in a microwave is a much more powerful heat source. The the other question rises, does heating things with microwave rays give you cancer? What doesn’t these days.
