Everyone said they want to be able to lucid dream but what real is Lucid Dreaming? We say that when you lucid dream you can control everything that happens in your dream. It allows your conscience mind to control something your unconscious mind normally controls. Issue is why are people able to lucid dream?
Scientists have proven lucid dreaming can be done and it is different then normal dreaming. They have also found that people can be trained to lucid dream but it can take months or some people to learn and a few days for the others. However, they never went over why people can Lucid Dream?
One study says that lucid dreaming can be done as a way to heal mentally and emotionally. As we know people who have experience trauma have mental and emotional issues that can manifest in nightmares and the like. If people who experience trauma were able to help heal or at least deal with their their problems. In the dream world they can do what ever they want and come to terms with what happened to them or people they love. It makes sense.
However, lucid dreams do not stay for long. The things we call dreams only happen during REM or Rapid Eye Movement which happens a lot during the night but not for the whole night. Additionally, it is very difficult for most people to remember their own dreams. While Lucid Dreams can be helpful once a person has had a trauma teaching them will be harder. All in all Lucid dreaming i fun but why we dream is a mystery of sort.

Lucid dreams is interesting topic to talk about becuase I personally experienced it. I agree that it is a way for the peroson to deal with psychological problems. I also think it helps people with their confidence level because person deals with the problem by himself and does not involve anybody else.
I learned about this in my psychology class junior year! The topic of dreams has always interested me and lucid dreams are also very intriguing. What you said about the people that experience trauma really does make sense. They can go into their dream and really come to terms or understand what happened. During psychology we learned all about the conscious and unconscious mind, and related it to lucid dreaming. Great post!
