Sometimes we find out that it is hard for us to concentrate during studying. There are many reasons that can interrupt your study progress. Today, I am going to tell about the food that help you to focus during studying.

According to WebMD, ginseng, fish and berries are very good for your brain function. They can help with your memory and focus. they can also help you to maintain a healthy brain when you get older. Eating breakfast is really important to a person’s health and studying. the studies found out that breakfast may improve the short-term memory and attention. Coffee can make your feel more alerted, and more awake during studying. fruits are also great for studying, the sugar they contained also raise your alertness. They also give you energy and nutrients.

Leafy greens are good for your brain, according to Eating Well, a 2006 study shows that people who eat 2 or more serving of vegetables per day have mental focus of people 5 years younger than them. so it can maintains our brain functions. Some nuts also help your brain to perform better, such as walnuts. Walnuts look like brain and it contain a lot of essential fatty acids to help your brain performance (CampusTalkBlog).

Based on this article, it seems like just eating healthier in general is the way to go to improve those grades. However, I feel like there could be a stronger connection between foods you SHOULDN’T eat to improve studying habits. For instance, foods with both carbohydrates and proteins have been known to make you sleepy, so I’m sure it would be good to avoid eating cereal and milk while studying. Or foods with too much sugar may provoke a lack of concentration, so should be avoided. Consider this for another blog post maybe!

I definitely find this post appealing to me as someone who studies a lot and enjoys staying healthy. One thing I have learned as a healthy eater is the benefit of caffeine in tea. Tea caffeine is actually much more beneficial than caffeine in coffee. It is healthier and has better long term effects. Tea does have less caffeine than coffee but the caffeine helps reduce stress and increase calm in the tea drinker. Tea also has a lot of antioxidants which can have a better long term effect including the absence of a “caffeine crash.” I would definitely suggest tea to anyone looking for a healthier alternative to coffee and better way to focus. Heres an article to read more about tea!

I love to eat while I am studying so this was an awesome thing for me to read and consider the next time I am studying. I have heard that breakfasts are important and I usually do not have breakfast, but lately am making an effort to change that. It would be better if there was a bigger fruit selection here at PSU, so I could eat healthy and improve my studying at one time.

The post was informative and reminded me of when I wrote a post on eating healthier can enhance your mood. It is obviously better to study when your mind is in a positive mind frame and while berries are delicious, I suggest trying to eat bananas too as they contain dopamine which is excellent since our brains produce dopamine as well which is that feel good pleasure chemical of the brain. Vegetables (like you mentioned) and chocolate could also be good sources to include in your study diet.

When I am studying I tend to get sidetracked a good amount, especially when I am in a setting where there are many distractions. The only way I really knew of on how to focus better was to put all of my technology away so I can just focus on studying. Now knowing that certain food will help me focus better I can be open to new ideas especially because I do like to eat fish and berries. It would be very cool to know what ingredients inside of these foods actually make one focus better. Next time I need to study, I will think about this blog and try to eat the right foods!

Awesome post! I wish you would’ve delved deeper into why those foods are good for you. For example, Dr. Cyrus A. Raji did a study on people (average age: 78) and their eating habits. At the end of the observational study he found that people eating baked or broiled fish had larger amounts of grey matter. And if you wondering about omega-3, the results were the same regardless of omega-3 blood levels. Source

I thought this post was very interesting. When I get hungry while studying, I usually head over to the Big O for pizza, a chicken parmesan hoagie, or some other food that is not the best nutritionally. These foods often make me feel lethargic afterword. Sushi, on the contrary, (I had it a lot back home) would make me feel full and energized. This study found that there is a correlation between quality of diet and academic performance. However, I think confounding variables effect these findings. Most likely, kids with better quality diets also had a higher socioeconomic status, which could also increase academic performance.

As soon as I saw this I knew I had to read it! Sometimes I have trouble concentrating studying, so it’s good to know that there’s actually food out there that helps you do that. There are also other techniques out there to help you study, such as listening to music to help you concentrate.

This post definitely caught my eye, because I’m not really the best studier. I always find myself constantly getting distracted and not truly being able to focus. So it was really great to read about foods such as berries and leafy greens which can correlate to studying better! Although I wonder how true the caffeine one is, because although it does make you alert, I find drinking caffeine also makes me hyper, and therefore I can not focus as well. So I guess it really depends on how certain amounts of caffeine affect different people (may work better for others).
