Doug received his PhD in Chemistry (Chemical Biology) from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign under the mentorship of Prof. Baranger. His training focused on drug discovery specifically using RNA as a drug target. Since joining the Booker lab, Doug has contributed in several projects over the years. He is currently involved in the Lipoyl Synthase project focusing on how the [4Fe-4S] auxiliary cluster of human LIAS is regenerated after each turnover.  When not doing research, Doug likes to spend quality time with family and friends.
