For this weeks first year experience my friends and I decided to go off campus. We sat at dinner in Pollock Dining hall at around 6:30 pm contemplating what we can do with the rest of our night. And then a great idea popped in my head….
“Let’s go to a trampoline indoor park!” I shouted to them with so much enthusiasm. The all gave me a look at first, but then I did some researching and found a place here in State College. It was only a 9 minute Uber, how perfect!
The trampoline place was called Get Air Trampoline Park. Once we finished dinner we decided to meet outside of my dorm at 7:50 pm to call an Uber to the park. We went onto the website and filled out the waivers saying that we will respect and be safe while jumping.
Once the Uber got there we all jumped in and took the 9 minute drive to Get Air. A few of our guy friends decided they wanted to join so they called another Uber and then we all walked in together.
Once we got there we went to the check in desk, paid the $18 for the special jumping socks and for an hour and a half of jumping. We locked our stuff into the lockers and we were off! As we looked around the place was pretty empty… How perfect!
We had plenty of space to run round and act like total children. Trampolines lined the floors and walls, a mini ninja course was there as well, and a foam pit you could launch yourself off a trampoline into.
But, out of the corner of my eye I saw a massive basketball hoop. I was determined to jump so high so that I would be able to make the basket. Let’s just say being 5 ft tall and against a 7 ft basketball hoop, I was not successful.
But overall the trampoline place was so much fun. I was able to do my old cheer and gymnastics skills for my friends and flip around the tumble tracks. I haven’t done my competitive cheer team in about 3 years but I still was able to do 5 back handsprings in a row so that was exciting.
